Insanium performance with looped edison phonograph cylinders.

The Insanium is a Human Speech Instrument. It is includes a Speakjet speech synthesizer, which is manipulated on a very low level (unacheieved by other designs), which allows words and vocal sounds to be drawn out or manipulated into abstract vocalizations. It was developed at CalArts and is open source.

The insanium also uses a synth inspired preamp and EQ / filter with a high grade audio output transformer to add the analog touch, and make the digital voice more real.
